Chapter Fifteen
Fade
âI made coffee,â I said, watching Adalee make her way down the stairs like a zombie. She headed straight for the coffee maker, grabbed a cup, and filled it to the brim.
âDid yââ
She held up her hand to silence me, sipping her coffee. âNo talky before the coffee,â she whispered, pointing to the cup halfway down. âWe talk when the coffee is here.â She walked over to the couch and tucked her legs under her while she sipped her coffee.
I leaned against the kitchen cabinets and folded my arms over my chest, observing her. Adalee was obviously not a morning personâat least not until she had, at minimum, half a cup of coffee in her.
Even in her groggy state, she was beautiful. Her messy, tousled reddish-brown hair fell around her face in waves, and she had thrown on a pair of short shorts and a white tank top. The morning light highlighted her features, making her look almost ethereal. Her perky nipples were visible through the thin fabric of the tank top, and the sight sent a surge of desire through me.
I shifted my weight, feeling my dick harden with need for Adalee. She kept her eyes on me while she sipped her coffee, a small smile playing on her lips. I took a sip of my own coffee and adjusted myself in my pants, trying to ease the growing discomfort.
Adalee noticed the bulge in my pants, and a sexy smirk curved her lips. She licked her lips slowly, her eyes darkening with desire.
âSee something you like, cupcake?â I drawled, unable to keep the amusement out of my voice.
She took another sip of her coffee, her eyes never leaving mine. âMaybe,â she teased, her voice a low purr. âJust maybe.â
I pushed off the cabinets and walked over to her, my heart pounding in my chest. I couldnât resist her, not when she looked at me like that.
âJust maybe?â I repeated, reaching out to brush a strand of hair away from her face. âI was hoping for a more definite answer.â
She set her coffee cup down on the side table, and then her fingers grazed mine as she reached up to me. The touch sent a jolt of electricity through me, and I knew I couldnât wait any longer.
âWell,â she said, her voice barely above a whisper, âmaybe you should convince me.â
That was all the invitation I needed. I leaned in and captured her lips with mine, my hand tangling in her hair. She responded immediately, her arms wrapping around my neck as she pulled me closer.
I deepened the kiss, my tongue exploring her mouth as she moaned softly against my lips. Her hands moved down my back, her nails grazing my skin through my shirt. The sensation was almost too much to bear, and I pulled her from the couch, my body molding to hers.
Her fingers found the hem of my shirt and tugged it upward, breaking the kiss just long enough to pull it over my head. I tossed it aside and returned to her, my hands roaming over her body.
